Prayer Focus
Week of Prayer – 31st May to 6th June
- Pray for the different groups who will be reached during the Soccer World Cup, in terms of their spiritual, emotional and physical health:
- Children
- At Eastside Holiday Club
- Children attending Trailer ministry programs throughout the country
- Parents – those whose children will attend programs
- Leaders on all levels – Chaperones, Holiday Club Youth leaders, Church leaders and Organizers.

- 1. Monday 31 May – Claiming God’s Promises
God’s promises over Eastside at this time
Numb.23:19, 20 – God is not like people, who lie; He is not a human who changes His mind. Whatever He promises, He does; He speaks, and it is done. I have been instructed to bless, And when God blesses, I cannot call it back.
Isa.65:23, 24 – They (Eastside) shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth children for trouble, for they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them. It shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer, and while they are still speaking I will hear.
God’s promises wherever Eastside will be involved:
Jer.33:13-16 – In the towns of the hill country…in the villages around Jerusalem, and in the towns of Judah, flocks will again pass under the hand of the one who counts them…in those days and at that time I will make a righteous branch sprout from David’s line; he will do what is just and right in the land. In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The Lord our Righteousness.
- 2. Tuesday 1 June – Restoration of Churches where outreaches will take place
Pray:
- that Christians will recommit themselves to seek HIM
- for restoration, healing and unity in and amongst churches
2Chron.7:14 – if my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Isa:61:1-6 – The spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor, he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord… to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planning of the Lord, that he may be glorified. And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations…you shall be named the priests of the Lord, they shall call you the servants of our God. Ezek.37:4, 5, 14 – Dry bones, hear the Word of the Lord!… I (the Lord) will make breath enter you (the Church) and you will come to life….I will put my Spirit in you and you will live.
- 3. Wednesday 2 June – Empowering Spirit anointed leadership
- The outpouring of God’s Spirit & Ignite of the flame of the Holy Shirit
Joel 2:28-32 – I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh, your sons and your daughters will prophecy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions… and I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth…and it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance.
- 4. Thursday 3 June – Spiritual Victory over the Enemy
- That the plans of the Enemy will be frustrated
2 Cor.10:4, 5 – The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
- 5. Friday 4 June – Proclamation of Salvation
- Pray that people will come to know Him, that they will be truly born again
Isa.12:1-3 – In that day you will say: ‘I will praise you o Lord. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me. Surely God is my salvation. I will trust and not be afraid…’ With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
Isa.61:1, 2 – The spirit of the sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives and release for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord.
Ezek.47:1-10 – …I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple….He said to me, ‘This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the sea. When it empties into the sea, the water there becomes fresh…There will be large numbers of fish…Fisherman will stand along the shore.
John 15:8 – This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples
